Christian Living - Search For Life

Hmm...Had an interesting conversation with Lyn (one of the missionaries from Australia) yesterday, where we had a fruitful discussion on kids and family.

In a workshop she facilitated back in Perth called "Search For Life", she shared 3 main areas in which every human is searching for (knowingly or unknowingly), be it with our loved ones, at workplace or thru peer-

Being Accepted
Being Valued
Being Belonged

And I thought...hmm...how true! It's just like the desires of any Christian who wants to be accepted by God, be valued by Him as His child (eg. through the things we do for Him) and feel belonged in His family. The amazing thing is that WE ARE A.V.B. by Him! And we don't need to fit into His "category/ schedule/ expectations/ pre-requisites" for He love us JUST AS WE ARE...that's the grace (undeserved favor) of our beloved Father...

And this desire applies the same towards man as well - to be accepted as who we are, to be valued and belonged, I must say that very often, we have to work hard at being A.V.B. by man, don't you think?...and cos of that, some of us ended up in the wrong direction; added on more problems that we already have and wished we could just turn back the clock...

So has anyone of you yet to receive Him as your personal Lord and Saviour? If you have not invited Him to your heart today, you have missed out the wonderful priviledge of being loved JUST AS YOU ARE, special in His sight...

"Lord I thank you for accepting me (a woman who comes with much weaknesses, not much of strengths, heehee); valued me by using me for your kingdom work and giving me a body of Yours (church) where I can belong. Amen."

Christian Living - God's Wisdom (Proverbs)

Been reading Proverbs since Job & Psalms...

In Chapt 4, the sub-heading says "Wisdom is Supreme" and I thought...wow!...

Just so many encouraging verses one can find in this "Life book" and as I read Proverbs, picked out some that stands out for me.

"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed" 15:22 (but one needs to first seek God's wisdom in looking for sound spiritual advisors! hahaha!)

"The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor" 15:33 (with emphasis on humility)

"All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord" 16:2 (so be careful what you think, for your thoughts shapes your life and God is watching!)

"When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him" 16:7 (can you really GRASP the POWER in this verse?!)

"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall" 16:18 (A reminder to all: be humble, just as Jesus is humble. He came down to serve, not to be served)

"A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends" 15:28 (brings back again on motives and thoughts...scary when friends do that isnt it? Where is love professed?)

Hey, you know what...there are many more, before these chapters and even after...in fact, the whole bible has the answers you need!

So if you are called Christians, then please remember this: it is not a religious thingy, but purely a RELATIONSHIP with God our Father, one whom we call Friend, Counsellor, Author...(the list goes on) The only difference between Him and humans (generic term - man) - He can change situations which man cant, He can transform our lives, He answers when we share with Him, He gives what's best for us, comes with GOOD motives and intentions cos He LOVES us and best of all, HE IS ALWAYS IN US and WITH US!

"Thank you Jesus, for the wonderful priviledge to know you since 13. Thank you for being with me in this life journey where challenges and trials asail...So glad that I can find my hope and joy in You. You've taught me how to love everyone unconditionally, whoever you have brought to my life, you said to love them well (for the least that I treat any of these, I am doing it unto You...). Even for those who are difficult to love, I shall love with the love of the Lord. I wanna persevere (never give up) in this race that You have given and fight the good fight for you... Just wanna say how much I love You, Lord. Amen."

Christian Living - Your present Suffering

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the gloriuis freedom of the children of God.

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

Romans 8:18-27

"Truly Lord, this is timely reminder and has once again brought much comfort and assurance. I pray that my flesh will yield to your Spirit so that I may think and act in accordance to Your will. In Jesus truth & most precious name I pray, amen."
